Maybe you’ve seen actor Gregg Sulkin on MTV’s “Faking It,” romancing Selena Gomez on Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” or on the red carpet with CVS feminist and ex-girlfriend Bella Thorne. Or maybe you haven’t seen him at all.

But the internet gave Sulkin a warm welcome on Wednesday night after he posted a photo of himself wearing a “Grab Her By The Brain” hat from the poorly named female empowerment initiative inspired by Donald Trump’s comments captured on a 2005 hot-mic recording.

Things went from bad to worse for Sulkin when he tried to respond to the ensuing backlash ― let’s try not grab women anywhere, OK? ― and ended up mirroring many of Trump’s own tweets about media bias and distortion.

When good intentions go so, so wrong.
