Woman Carrying Skull On Stick Leads Police To The Rest Of A Body

A homeless woman in Sacramento, California, has sparked an eerie mystery after she was seen carrying around a human skull on a stick.

Witness called police after they saw the woman walking down the street with the skull Wednesday, according to Reuters.

Responding officers questioned the woman, who led them to a nearby homeless encampment that had been recently abandoned.

Officers quickly discovered the rest of a decomposing body at the scene, according to The Associated Press.

A man named Warren, who lives near the encampment, told Fox 40 that he had smelled something terrible, but he thought it was a dead cat.

“I went to walk back there and thought, ‘Damn! What the hell is that smell?’ It make me sick to my stomach, so I turned my ass around and came back here,” he told the station.

Another neighbor, Philip, was shocked by the whole scene.

“Twenty cop cars out here. And the cops got her out there. And they’re taking pictures of her holding a head,” he told Fox 40. “Then they get her hands and CSI showing up.”

According to a statement released by the Sacramento Police Department, the woman with the skull has not been charged with anything at this time.

“Foul play has not been determined, therefore we are awaiting the Sacramento County Coroner’s report for further information,” the statement read.
