Stressed Out At Work? Here's How To Find Your Center With Just 3 Minutes Of Breathing

How to chill even when you have 100 unread emails.

Here’s what we know about workplace stress: almost all of us feel it at some point, and sometimes that’s a good thing. A little bit of pressure can help you meet a deadline, prepare for the presentation, nail the interview.

But stress overload can be debilitating. It can become harder to make decisions and negatively impact your body from nearly head to toe. So what do you do when the emails are flooding in, you’re eating your 10th sad desk salad in a row and it all feels like too much?

Stop to take a breather, that’s what. In just under two minutes, life coach Jordan Bach explains in the video above how anywhere from 3-30 minutes of focusing on the breath can bring about a sense of calm and drive down stress.

“If you find yourself upset or confused about what decision to make...this meditation will calm your heart and pull you into your center,” Bach said. Sirens ring in the background as Bach instructs viewers through inhales and exhales, proving that mindfulness really can be cultivated anywhere.

Unless there’s a meeting starting momentarily, all of us have three minutes to get centered.

“This will make you calm,” Bach says, “and when you’re coming from a place of calm and peace, you can make decisions.”
