The Mountain is set to get some beefy competition — in the form of an MMA featherweight.

Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor is set to appear on an upcoming season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Reports first surfaced earlier this week from Belfast Live.

“It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of ‘Game of Thrones,’” a source told the publication. “He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show.”

UFC President Dana White confirmed the news while appearing on “Fox Sports Live.”

“I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show,” White said. “And I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great.”

Esquire notes that McGregor could potentially take on the Mountain: “Now, The Mountain is a zombie thing that doesn’t give a shit when it gets stabbed. Maybe McGregor will play the only warrior capable of killing him.”

After all, a video of McGregor and actor Hafþór Björnsson sparring in 2015 has been seen by 23 million people so far.
