On his Facebook page Tuesday, legendary newsman Dan Rather pitched an amusingly grim idea to erect a new national monument.
I think we should erect a monument built from materials impervious to the elements and list the names of all the elected officials and others in positions of power today in the United States who refuse to stand with the science on climate change.
Rather goes on in a far more serious tone, laying out the very solid reasoning as to why science is not up for debate. “Science is not a conclusion,” says Rather. “It’s a process.”
We thought it would be more powerful to see the monument visualized.
We suggest it be weatherproof, but also cheap, because we shouldn’t let climate change deniers cost us any more than they already have.
