Ellen Enlists Bradley Cooper To Defeat That Chicken Nugget Kid On Twitter

Their highly retweeted Oscar selfie can't be dethroned.

Everyone please turn you attention to this pressing global crisis that demands your immediate assistance: Ellen DeGeneres’ Twitter game.

Yes, the queen of daytime needs your help to keep the title of the most retweeted tweet of all time, aka that selfie from the 2014 Academy Awards, and ward off her competition.

Earlier this week, high school student Carter Wilkerson edged closer to closing the gap between himself and DeGeneres after his tweet to score a year of free Wendy’s chicken nuggets received 2.8 million and counting retweets.

DeGeneres is still ahead by a couple hundred thousand, but enlisted the help of Bradley Cooper, who took the famous Oscar selfie, to encourage her fans to show her some more Twitter love.

“If you think I’m going to lose that record to some chicken nugget kid, you are out of your cluckin’ mind,” she said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday, later adding in her and Cooper’s PSA, “I was sitting on Meryl Streep’s lap for an uncomfortably long time.”
