Trevor Noah Hails Twitter 'King' Trump, Plugs 'Daily Show' Presidential Tweet Library

"You can't deny that when it comes to Twitter, he is the king," Noah says.

If anyone doubts the awesome power of President Donald Trump’s tweets, look no further than his travel ban ― which is itself momentarily “banned” by the courts, “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah noted on Monday night.

As Noah points out, one of Trump’s tweets just helped convince the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit not to reinstate Trump’s ban on travel and immigration from six Muslim-majority countries.

The president’s Twitter timeline is so powerful, “it defeats an entire team of White House lawyers,” Noah observed. “All of them were like, ‘Law school!’ Trump was like, ‘140 characters.’”

Trump’s Twitter use also came back to haunt him when he tweeted that former FBI Director James Comey “better hope that there are no ‘tapes’” of their conversations, the “Daily Show” host remarked.

Some of Trump’s spokespeople say Trump’s tweets should be ignored ― but Noah says he has more respect for the president than that: “I take Donald Trump at his word when he tweets.”

In fact, the “Daily Show” is so impressed by the man “basically running the entire country with his thumbs” that it’s created a pop-up presidential library of Trump’s tweets, which will be on display at 3 West 57th Street in Manhattan for three days.

“Let’s just say a certain someone will be able to see it from the window of a certain tower,” Noah teased.
