Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is stylish in the way that few politicians on the global stage are. For one, his suits actually fit his frame. And secondly, he’s not beholden to the old school codes of elected leader dressing. Sure, the man appreciates the versatility of a classic deep navy blue suit and brown lace-ups, but he’s got a secret weapon other world leaders don’t: an arsenal of fun socks. Back in May (May 4th to be exact), Trudeau wore a pair of mismatched R2D2 and C3PO Star Wars socks to meet with the Prime Minister of Ireland. Later in the month he showed off a pair of Nato branded socks to Angela Merkel, making his penchant for novelty socks an international affair. On an episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan broadcast from Niagara Falls, Ripa and Seacrest jokingly gave the prime minister a pair of socks emblazoned with their own portraits. He’s a serious guy who doesn’t take getting dressed too seriously, which is a lesson every man can take to heart. Here’s a look at the Canuck’s wildest, boldest, and weirdest ankle accessorizing to date.
