Palin's Dirty Dozen -- New Ethics Complaint Filed

Spring is springing here on the Last Frontier, and with it pops up a brand new ethics complaint against the governor. For those of you keeping score at home, that makes twelve ethics complaints in all. That number, of course, includes the one Palin filed against herself last fall so the Troopergate investigation could be overseen by the governor-appointed personnel board, instead of leaving it solely to those rogue, mavericky legislators in Juneau.

The complaint will be filed this afternoon asserting that Palin's involvement with SarahPAC constitutes "outside employment" and "misuse of official position."

Anchorage resident Sondra Tompkins, child disability advocate and mother of a special needs child, is filing the complaint after observing Governor Palin repeatedly display "a pattern of unethical behavior." Sondra believes that the tipping point for her was Sarah Palin's most recent abdication of her role as Governor and apparent conflict-of-interest when she spoke at two outside events in Indiana rather than work with the Alaska Legislature during the most critical time, the end of the session.

The complaint alleges:

a) Governor Palin has entered into a contract outside of her official duties with the donors, employees, partners and any or all other participants involved in SarahPAC.

b) The recent partisan trip to Indiana by the Governor was purely to benefit personal interests, had no benefit for the State of Alaska and was in direct conflict with her official duties.

c) The Governor left the State to participate in these events during the most critical end-of-session Legislative activities, at a time where the legislators themselves are not permitted to leave

Tompkins is also one of the growing number of disgrunteld Republican voters who find themselves disillusioned with the current administration.

Why bother her pretty little head about pesky things like ethics?

I never had much regard for the Republicans or their self serving ideology. It's amazing to me that after all the embarasing exposure and horrible publicity Palin has accrued since her introduction to national politics, the majority of Republicans still think she is great. This alone does much to discredit them.

Her and her friends will loose energy when they have to fight more ethics charges.
12:04 PM on 04/25/2009
This is working so beautifully. Bankrupt the Palin family with all these nuisance lawsuits and ethics probes and then she goes away. It works everytime it's used. and don't we know how to use it effectively. Keep it going and she's done for good.

Obviously Sondra Tompkins does not get the big picture. Sarah is much too important to the entire United States to be tied down to her duties as Alaskan governor. Ya betcha.

finally, we are seeing Palin as the bag of wind, signifying nothing but wind, that she has been all along. she sand bagged McCain for her own political gain? wow, even dick cheney didnt have the cohones to do that!!!! how do you take care of your family, especially a special needs child, who really needs mothers love, and traipse all across the country at Alaskan taxpayers expense, and still think you are ethical?
i really think she should run with the delusional Bachman who doesnt even know how to measure dioxide levels.
we all know why the party of No will remain that way until they are voted out of office. they have come up against an ethical president who made the terrible mistake of being black. the rednecks cant accept direction for a black man. Americans on the other hand, see a President.

Hey, I agree, she is a bag of wind, but of the worst kind!

This blogger is one of the best out there. AK Muckracker is certainly the best in Alaska. In fact, this blogger is such a singular annoyance and impediment to Sarah Palin's agenda, an Alaskan legislator felt compelled to "out" the blogger's anonymity not long ago.

I'm sure it was because he thought it would not only intimidate the blogger, but cause the blog to fold and go away.

He was wrong! Everyone needs to have this blog on their favorites list. Truly one of the best out there, just ask Sarah!

That's "Palin's Deranged! Syndrome"--a delusional state in which Sarah Palin thinks she will be the GOP nominee for anything in 2012.

The only thing I worry about is poorly educated, intellectually incurious people of either party being elected to national office. There are too many brighter options to waste our time, money and votes on the mediocre ones.

The Democrats are so scared of Palin; so frightened that she will emerge as one of the new conservative leaders that she must be destroyed. The Democrats wrote the book on destroying political foes...well, the Clintons wrote the book and the Dems adopted it and added more below the belt, dirty tactics. Yes, they've got this down pat. Sometimes it goes sideways as it did when they tried to destroy Sen Stevens from Alaske. That one came back to bite them as old Ted was completely innocent . HA, Dems are so predictable in this area.

Not worried, amused. Sort of like watching the sideshow at the carnival, or reading People magazine.

Sarah, it's here, your time to shine..........in all your glory and all your media attention, Sarah, you are getting impeached for the same thing you fired a co-worker for a few years ago. Randy Rhuedrich remember, you falsly claimed he was working on campaign stuff,, when you became gov. you had him fired, tarred and feathered. Your turn Sarah. Take Responsibility and step down, save your family the grief of your impeachment.

I meant, spending the rest of her life trying to defend herself and incuring millions of dollars in lawyers fees.

If she has her way the Alaska state legislature will vote for a fund exclusively to pay for legal costs endured when fighting stuff like this.

I wonder how the citizens of the state of Alaska feel about footing the bill for her ineptitude?
07:19 PM on 04/24/2009
Gee, what a surprise! Everything Palin has her hand in seems to go bad. She should do her best to govern Alaska, not run for reelection in 2010, and forget about 2012, Additionally, she should reimburse the state for per diem charged to the state for personal expenses, pay all the taxes she owes, and try to pay down her legal fees as best as possible. This would be the good scenario. The bad scenario is that she will keep spiraling downwards with one ethics violation after another, reap the repercussions of the massive discontent of the Alaskan legislature and its citizens and end up spending her the rest of her life trying to defend herself and and incur millions of dollars of lawyers fees..

Additionally, she should do her best to not bad mouth her new grandson's father. This will create many emotional problems for the child when he gets older and will likely scar him for the rest of his life. It's not his fault he was born into an insane family, and he shouldn't be punished for this, or become emotionally devastated.

True that she is only thinking of herself and the free gifts that she receives from groups like the NRA (custom made street legal assault weapon),(clothes),(trips), listen Alaska it is best to put a muzzle on that barracuda. Not only is she unethical, she is using governorment for her and her families benefit.
