Here's a round up of the day before Fashion Week (at least the events I saw), many shows and new concepts, designers trying to break through and creative people trying to figure out how to interpret the new world we're entering through clothes. Today (when this post was published) we're almost midweek through fashion week, a trend post should be up shortly.
Loris Diran showed at the Altman building, using tweed, crisp clean looks and well made clothes to launch a new shop and collection.

Jillian Lewis a Project Runway alum evoked Falshdance (the movie). Yup. That's all I have to say.

Upstairs hidden away, above a speakeasy was the John Barlett show. I couldn't get in. That's the reason for the ghostly picture below. Yet, they're more interesting then many I've taken at other shows. Not only the perfect backdrop as the newsie dressed boys wiz by. Yet also the perfect illusion to the start of what will no doubt me an interesting week.
