Jacques Pépin is one of the most influential chefs of our time, with long-running shows on PBS as well as a slew of cookbooks.

But next week his newest book emerges with a more personal side than even a chef like Pépin has yet to show. The book - Jacques Pépin: Heart and Soul in the Kitchen - is a collection of the types of recipes he cooks at home. And readers might be surprised to know that includes everything from burgers to chimichurri sauce. "Its a reflection of who I am," says Pépin, "and there's so many types of cuisine that I like to get involved with".

We sat down with the chef to talk about his new book and we also grilled him on topics ranging from the new generation of chefs to which TV show he'd like to take over. So watch the video above!
