Out on sunny Pier 92, the Catherine Malandrino Spring 2014 collection debuted Wednesday afternoon during the 6th day of New York Fashion Week. Appropriately located on the water, this collection, called Les Voiles de Saint Tropez, borrows heavily from the lifestyle on the Mediterranean sea.

Spring pieces are stitched in beach-ready or warm weather material -- airy cotton lycra, silk and viscose. And silhouettes follow suit in their flowy shape seen through loose fitted pants, pleated A-line skirts and high waisted shorts that elongate the shape.

Malandrino's looks progressed in color -- starting with Mediterranean blue, red and eggshell looks (immediately below), moving into pinks, blue graphic prints and then an eggshell white and khaki theme featuring a gorgeous lace dress (pictured below). The presentation line closed with blacks and whites, pictured on the bottom -- the perfect pieces to slip into after a day out on the beach.
