Buffalo Bills Get Some Love

Bravo, Gov. Cuomo, and thanks! Though your reasons for helping are probably centered on the economic implications of losing the Bills, it's borderline amazing that you hold a tiny place in your heart for all us big-hearted fans.

Someone DOES love the Bills. Okay, obviously the trusty legion of Bills fans have tragic, unwavering love for the team, but it's more common than not for everyone else to treat them and their fans like the ugly stepchild of the NFL.

Unless, of course, that person is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. He just announced he was hiring a legal big wig to advise him on how to best keep the Bills a New York team. Ahem, keep the Bills the only New York team.

Irwin Raij is a D.C. lawyer who has worked with the MLB, Miami Dolphins and White House. I'm not sure what solutions he's going to come up with (we all know that nobody in owner Ralph Wilson's family wants to adopt the Bills when he passes) but I'm glad somebody's trying to prevent the obliteration of thousands of red, white and blue hearts.

I'm pumped! This is the best news I've heard about the fate of the Bills since that rumor that wasn't really a rumor but was more like a tweet that got twisted into another tweet. Remember when Diddy broadcasted via Twitter that he wanted to be the first black owner of an NFL team and somebody suggested he buy the Bills? That never-gonna-happen scenario was overwhelming for me, not because the Bills would have probably been shipped away to L.A., but because I have an odd obsession with the Shiny Suit Man.

Bravo, Gov. Cuomo, and thanks! Though your reasons for helping are probably more centered on the economic implications of losing the Bills rather than the mass of simultaneous emotional/mental breakdowns that would occur, it's super borderline amazing that you hold a tiny place in your heart for all us big-hearted fans.

GO BILLS!!!
