Tis' the Season to Embrace Your Humanity

This is not about holding on to sadness for longer then you should. This is not about turning your back on sadness. This is about honoring your humanity. Allowing for you to be you. Overall, you are the Universe expressing itself in a body, how could you go wrong?

"Freedom has always been with you. What makes you unfree is the need to deny your emotions. To deny yourself from yourself." -Unknown

Somedays I feel unstoppable and on top of the world. I feel powerful, I feel full of life and vitality....man I love those days! Other days, I feel, ummmm Human. Not Super Human, but VERY Human. While being our very human selves we sometimes choose to see that feeling good and super Human is how you should feel everyday. Am I right? or am I right? But life, life has it's other plans and feeling good is not always what we have to go through for growth, spiritual growth.

Life shows us that we are going to feel sad sometimes and you know what, it is ok. Feeling sad is to be embraced, rather then denied. When you deny your emotions, it can turn into a big scary mess like cancer or any other disease.

Embracing your emotions as they arise is the key to become more whole and spiritual. Being spiritual does not always mean being happy all the time, not fake happy and not too low vibration like constantly being angry. Spirituality and peace is about being human and being ok with that. Having an open heart with yourself and what you go through is important.

4 Ways to Self Love your Difficult Emotions

Be with your sadness: Learn to just sit with the emotion without judgement. You don't need to talk back to them, just observing them is enough for now.

Listen to what your sadness has to say: For example, our emotions talk and boy are they loud. What makes you sad? Is it "Not having enough ____________" "Not being enough ___________" You fill in the blank, many things call fill in these blanks.

Don't be sad alone: Why? Because you don't have to be. Many people that love you want to hear from you and tell you how wonderful you are. It is always good to speak with a friend that has your best interest at heart.

Create a Sacred Space to letting go: It is also healthy to let go of what makes you sad, or just letting go of the emotion in your body (once you feel them) is perfect. Allow yourself to be human. When it ends, it's over and you can smile at life again.

This is not about holding on to sadness for longer then you should. This is not about turning your back on sadness. This is about honoring your humanity. Allowing for you to be you. Overall, you are the Universe expressing itself in a body, how could you go wrong?

HuffPost's GPS for the Soul app is based on two truths about human beings. First: We all have a centered place of wisdom, harmony and balance within us. Second: We're all going to veer away from that place, again and again and again. What we need is a great course-correcting mechanism -- a GPS for the Soul -- to help us find our way back to that centered place, from which everything is possible.

Because no one knows better than you what helps you de-stress and tap into that place of peace inside yourself, it's important for you to create your very own GPS guide -- a personalized collection of whatever helps you course-correct. Email us at GPS@huffingtonpost.com and we'll set you up with your very own HuffPost blogger account to share your guide on the site. If you're already a blogger, we encourage you to upload your personal guide today. We can't wait to see what you have to share.
