The Journey to Joy

We all have our safe people. The people in our lives who lift us up and remind us who we really are. The ones who know us and love us no matter what. It is so important that we remember to reach out to these people when we are sliding toward the darkness.

"Find a place inside where there is joy, and the joy with burn out the pain." -- Joseph Campbell

Like attracts like. Negativity breeds negativity. What we focus on grows. Even though we know all of these things to be 100% true, sometimes it's easy to forget that it is a decision to seek the joy. There is always an opportunity to fall into self-pity, comparison, or doubt. And it is truly our choice whether we decide to go there or not.

Life is a constant exercise of focus. If we forget that it is up to us the choose where to look, the eye will often fall on the road of darkness. But when we remember that every moment is a choice and every decision that we make is ours, we can simply choose to turn to the light.

There can be times where we feel disrespected or left out and even in these moments we can choose how to color the experience. We can see that everyone is really a spiritual being having a human experience and everyone is simply wishing to be loved.

We all have our safe people. The people in our lives who lift us up and remind us who we really are. The ones who know us and love us no matter what. It is so important that we remember to reach out to these people when we are sliding toward the darkness. Friendship is a life saver and it is only when we feel alone that we begin to lose our joy.

You are not alone! Remember that! We are all together in this journey!

JOY ON!
