In Bid to Woo GOP, Health Bill to Include Tax Cuts for Gun Stores

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) - Hoping to convince Republicans to vote for the health care reform bill, congressional Democrats are adding provisions to the bill that could be attractive to the GOP, such as tax cuts for gun stores.

"We're trying to get them to give this bill a second look," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev). "We're saying, look, we know you hate the whole thing in there about affordable health care, but we're going to make it easier for people to buy affordable guns."

But even as Mr. Reid raised eyebrows by adding a pro-gun provision to a health bill, Democrats were busy at work floating other additions to attract GOP votes, such as a tax credit for families who do not believe in evolution. More here.
