Boycott Trump

Posted: 04/29/11 10:46 AM ET

As a big fat thank you for his relentless attacks on Barack Obama, for disrespecting the office of the presidency and for his despicable accusations regarding Obama's citizenship and college records, we should boycott anything and everything Donald Trump. It's time to send a clear message to this race-baiting, arrogant, self-aggrandizing fool that what he's been doing in his attempts to delegitimize Obama's presidency is not only irresponsible and reprehensible, but unpatriotic as well. For that there must be a price to pay. And what would hurt Trump most is a swift kick to his ego and his wallet.

So what I propose is this: if you've been offended by the unconscionable claims Mr. Dreadful Hair has made regarding Obama's birth certificate and his Columbia and Harvard degrees, stop watching Trump's reality show The Apprentice. Let the show fail. Show him and NBC that it's not ok to do and say anything to attack our president, especially in such a manner intended to stoke the flames of hatred and racism.

Stop going to Trump's casinos in Atlantic City, which are listed here. There are plenty of other casinos which are owned and run by decent people who probably don't question Obama's citizenship or whether he's properly earned his degrees.

Stop buying Trump's Signature Collection clothing line. Do you really want the brand of ignorance and anti-Americanism stamped on your back now?

Stop staying at Trump Hotels in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Hawaii. There are so many respectable hotel chains who'd happily take your money while not claiming that President Obama's an illegal alien who cheated his way through college and grad school.

Take a stand, America, and let Donald Trump know that there are consequences to his shameful actions. Let's see how proud and honored we can really make him.

RE Celeb Apprentice, you have some additional options if you really want to watch it but still screw Trump. Watch it 7 or more days after you Tivo it and he gets no ratings benefit. Watch it on Hulu and he gets no ratings benefit and very minimal ad revenue. Download it from eztv.it and he gets no ratings or ad revenue, plus you get to watch his intellectual property for free (essentially costing him money). Boycotting his gold plate casinos is easy and most cant afford his golf courses anyway. But if there were some way to get free rooms or link time off him I'd advocate that as well.

Already stopped watching Apprentice after the 2nd show! And now whenever I'm curious I remind myself of Trump's despicable treatment of the President and keep channel surfing. He's run out of show material anyway and I'm afraid all the respect I had for him as a businessman went out of the window. I know a lot of folks will skip his overpriced "seminars" based on his pettiness. Boycott Trump is a fun idea!

Americans would love to boycott Trump, the problem is he doesn't own many of the places that use his name!

On the White House correspondents dinner tonight, Seth Green just went off on Trump. I did not see him laugh once, that was hilarious. Great jobs Seth Green.

I got the same thing from Omaha Steaks, and told them to sponsor another show, because until they do, I won't order anything from them.

Seems to be working with Groupon: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Groupon-Apprentice-Advertising-1032560.aspx

I watched the first Apprentice show years ago and enjoyed it except when the Donald was on and haven't watched it since. But if what he says is true, that his show is the top of the NBC shows then NBC must/can do better. After all, the bar set by Trump is really, really low. Maybe his show is tops among game shows? But is it really better than Biggest Loser or Minute to Win It? Doubt it.

Lots of people are boycotting the Trump named resorts, books, casinos, apartment complexes, etc., simply because the economic collapse and the price gouging by the oil speculators has made an occasional foray to the casinos a luxury.

I don't believe that Trump has ever been a serious candidate.  Were he, he would have been busily organizing campaign groups in the critical primary states, beginning to recruit volunteers to staff phone banks, develop white papers and positions rather than simply gutter sniping and haranguing the basest elements of the voting public.

But the media like ready made stories and Trump is arguably the greatest self-promoter in fifty years and can always call the New York Post Page 6 editor, or someone else to get some print and air time for free.

I don't believe that he is nearly as wealthy as he maintains.  He has repeatedly filed for bankruptcy protection and his once impressive control of the Atlantic City properties has been diluted as he has sought to raise cash.  His investment partners are actually the majority owners of the luxury apartment towers in New York.  His newest venture in Las Vegas is mostly vacant; his timing or his "magic" is long gone.  I imagine that many of his remaining residences are hugely mortgaged and are probably upside down and unsellable, as is most of the luxury housing market has been tanking, price-wise.

In other words, if he doesn't get additional television shows, or get the ratings up of his old-school reality show to generate more ad revenues and up his paychecks and sell more of his ghost written, "Admire me/Envy me/I'm Donald Trump and You're Not Books he may be like the late McCarthy Lawyer Roy Cohn trying to live large but in actuality just as cash poor as the rest of the "little people" he so despises.

Did anyone catch Late Night with David Letterman Thursday night? Letterman was so bothered by Trump's "racist" rants that he told his audience and Paul Schaeffer that Trump is never to appear on his program again. After the commercial break, Letterman's executive producer in the wings, pointed out to Dave that the Late Night's schedule had Trump booked on May 18. Letterman asked her, "Well, did you cancel him?". She said no. He said, well I have to do this myself I see. Bring him on. I will ask him to apologize to the American people for his racist tirades and rants. The audience exploded in applause. I think that Trump will cancel out but if he does not, it should be a very interesting night with Dave!

Trump only likes to be interviewed when he feels he has an advantage.  And he always has to be feuding with someone or trashing someone else's career.  Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Robert De Niro, President Obama, Martha Stewart.  Has anyone ever interviewed his classmates in the secondary schools that he attended?  He had behavior difficulties that necessitated his transfer to a military academy.  Old behaviors die hard.  He is a classic bully now.  And he probably was a bully when he was a kid and an adolescent.

Maybe the main stream media should further check into his made in China apparel. He seems to have no morals about exploiting slave labor or not supporting made in USA. I would like to see his angry outburst about that issue. LOL

Just received an email response from Sprint to my request that they should cease their sponsorship of Celebrity Apprentice.
---
From Sprint:
Thank you for taking the time to write. We'll be looking through all the
ideas and feedback we receive.

This will, of course, take some time. I appreciate your patience until
we can get you a response. A representative from my office will be
contacting you in about a week.

Once again, from all of us at Sprint, thank you.
