This week American Idol winner Adam Lambert blurted out what a lot of pop musicians are thinking privately. That Susan Boyle sucks.

He told a UK gay magazine:

"If only it weren't for Susan Boyle! I'm happy for her success, but that album is terrible. "Wild Horses" is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!"

Lambert has been blasted by gossip sites such as Perez Hilton, and been accused of being jealous of Boyle's stratospheric sales. While that may be true, many stars feel she is not up to scratch.

"She's a cruise ship singer with a back story," said one bitter singer, strictly off the record. Elaine Page, her idol, recently compared her to a "virus."

But her fame hasn't done her any good. After yet another emotional breakdown this week, her brother Gerry revealed the global superstar is "crushingly lonely."

"Susan has the world at her feet in terms of fame and money but at this precise moment in time it means nothing. Absolutely nothing, " he said. "The one thing she wants above all everything else is love. Who doesn't?"

According to Gerry, Boyle's wealth and fame make her less appealing -- and more intimidating -- to any potential suitors. Seems Boyle can't win.

Simon Cowell has promised the world that if Boyle can't handle it he will pull the plug on her nascent stardom.

Simon, perhaps it's time to start pulling.
