Next week, dozens of tech innovators and established leaders will take the stage in Santa Clara for the annual DEMO conference, which will have 1000 attendees. Contrary to recent developments which have reinforced the reputation of Silicon Valley as a "young boys club," about a third of the DEMO speakers will be women and about 15 percent of the presenting start-ups will be headed by women, says Erick Schonfeld, Executive Producer of the show.

The event is very much about diversity of innovation, he explains in this interview with Beet.TV He says, there is no shortage of women for tech conferences. In the interview, he speaks about a number of themes to expect at the conference.

Schonfeld, the former editor of TechCrunch, was appointed Executive Producer for DEMO last year.
