Exclusive Video: Yahoo! Connected TV Is An Open Platform

SUNNYVALE, CA -- Yahoo's connected TV initiative, which brings Web video to Internet enabled television sets, has over 1000 content sources and has opened up its platform for publishers with available API's and certain media RSS feeds.

Content providers from local small high school to a local news channel are using their API to get on the platform.

The service has some 50,000 television shows and games available. YouTube is available on the platform.

We were at Yahoo! HQ in Sunnyvale yesterday with for this interview with Russ Shafer, Senior Director of Marketing for Yahoo! Connected TV. In this interview, he told us: "We are completely open."

Going Global

He said that through a recent global product integration with Sony, the Yahoo connected TV's are up and running in 110 countries.
