The scope of Cannes Lions will grow this year with a wave of new participants from Silicon Valley, Hollywood and other sectors, says Philip Thomas, CEO of the Festival in this video interview with Beet.TV taped earlier this year in Las Vegas.

Beyond its origins as a celebration of advertising creativity, it is now a forum for the dramatic digital revolution shaping the media and marketing industries.

Beet.TV will return this year to cover the show extensively.

In advance, we are producing a 25-part series titled "The Road to Cannes" with interviews with thought leaders on the future of digital media. The series will be be published in the two-weeks leading up to the Festival.

Beet.TV starts production next week in London with a number of interviews with senior advertising executives from the Publicis Groupe, WPP, and Omnicom agencies.

We move production to New York the following week. Here is the page with our production plans.

We are very pleased that this series is being sponsored by Videology.

The interview was taped during CES at the MediaLink dinner. It has been previously published.
