They Work for Us

This election is not an accomplishment in and of itself, it is merely an opportunity. It was not about parties alone, it was about people and their lives.

Despite spinning to the contrary, the breadth of the changes in this election from State House right up to the door of the White House sends a message. Americans are insecure about their lives- abroad and at home. They are not looking for hand outs but a hand up--a government on their side that works for them. A government that rewards work not wealth.

Americans do not wake up thinking about whether they live in a red state or blue state, and they were not voting just about "taking back the house". Americans are struggling to own a house, raise a family, and live the American Dream. They are ready to work hard and sacrifice for their family, but what they said clearly Tuesday from every state initiative passing the minimum wage to Governorships' to State Legislatures---- is that we want elected officials that work for us.

Common sense plans, new ideas, and bold thinking are needed to make a new economic plan for Team USA. This election is not an accomplishment in and of itself, it is merely an opportunity. It was not about parties alone, it was about people and their lives. The middle class is getting squeezed, and are looking for inspiration not investigations. Our newly elected leaders should offer it.
