Cool Pads: Jesse James, the Man America Loves to Hate, Lists His Home

Word apparently hasn't reached James that the housing market has crashed and doubling your 2002 price -- no matter how nice a remodel -- may not be the smartest route to go for a fast sale.

Jesse, how could you? Isn't cheating on America's sweetheart, actress Sandra Bullock, a capital offense? I suppose that's old news, but the new news is that Bullock's estranged husband has listed his Orange County home for $6.75 million. Maybe the security gates just weren't strong enough to hold back the rock- and tomato-throwing masses?

Anyway, we suspect a block party will be held welcoming new owners for this one.

Jesse James has owned the beachfront two-story Mediterranean villa since 2002. The home has views of Catalina Island and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The 3,600-square-foot home has a great room with stone floors, an oversized fireplace and alcoved ceilings. The master suite, on the second floor, has a beamed ceiling, fireplace, walk-in closet and custom-made brass spa tub. The home also has a media/game room, three other bedrooms and bathrooms, a wet bar and an office. There is a glass-enclosed lanai with a swimming pool, grotto, waterslide and a waterfall. Automated tiki torches illuminate the ocean and beach. There is also a state-of-the-art security system with multiple cameras and property surveillance, so diehard Bullock supporters shouldn't get any crazy ideas here.

James reportedly paid $3.6 million for the home eight years ago and remodeled it. Word apparently hasn't reached him that the housing market has crashed and doubling your 2002 price -- no matter how nice a remodel -- may not be the smartest route to go for a fast sale. And we presume he wants to high-tail out of here.

Bullock and James lived in the home after their 2005 wedding. The two separated in March, immediately following her big night at the Academy Awards for The Blind Side. James admitted his infidelities on ABC's Nightline and elsewhere. Bullock, now living in New Orleans, has filed for divorce.

James competed on Celebrity Apprentice last year and was the host of the cable series Monster Garage from 2003-2006. He is also CEO of West Coast Choppers. James is believed to be relocating to Austin and has complained about papparrazi stalking him at the home he is attempting to sell. Poor baby.

The listing agent is Chuck Buscemi of First Team Real Estate, Huntington Beach.
