This week at The Pollination Project, we celebrate seven new grantees who advocate for a community that works for all. From Daina Zhang's project to provide legal assistance and support to low income litigants in New York; to Elizabeth Klosky who is teaching kids to care about bees, we are honored to support those who are advocating for others.

Congratulations to these recent grantees:

Joyce Ellis-McNeal & Shawn Jones, Round 2 Educational & Research Center, Flint, Michigan. Round 2 offers self sufficiency workshops that bridge the digital divide by establishing high-speed Internet hubs and cyber cafes throughout the City while also teaching literacy and financial responsibility.

Daina Zhang, Room for Justice, Flushing, NY. Daina's project provides low income litigants with free, legal assistance and information. They aim to support those who self-represent in Court to help them defend and protect their rights.

Gail Schlesinger & Carolyn Fabian, Delivering Comfort, Elgin, IL. Supports the collection of used furniture and household items to be redistributed by The ReHome Center, which aids low income citizens in setting up the basic needs of a new home.

NBS uses science and education to develop ethical and innovative solutions to large-scale societal problems such as their current initiative which addresses a lack of local, affordable, pesticide-free, organic plant derived foods.

Often when people read this column, they think, "If that person can do something, so can I!" All of us have ways to serve our community and the planet. At the Pollination Project, our job is to provide a little financial capital to help get a new project off the ground. We love learning about grassroots changemakers who are spreading compassion, peace, environmental sustainability, generosity and justice all over the globe. If this describes you, we accept grant applications for Pollination Project seed grants, every day of the year so please apply.
