Caught Red-Handed With a BlackBerry, During Fashion Week and Throughout History

At the beginning of Fashion Week, I pondered the eternal question of how many times you can wear a dress you love before it becomes problematic.

At the end of Fashion Week, my thoughts turn to one of modern life's great paradoxes: how, in our hyper-connected lives, do we pull the plug on our hyper-connectivity, disconnect from our devices and reconnect with ourselves?

It's a paradox I often ponder privately, and speak about publicly. But my decision to blog about it today was prompted by two recent pieces, on Styleite and The Stir, which included several photos of me looking at my BlackBerry during Fashion Week shows.

As I looked at myself looking at my BlackBerry during the fashion shows, I remembered that this was not the first time I had missed something important because of my BlackBerry addiction. So, in the interest of full transparency, here are more photos of me missing great moments throughout history. I promise to make this a teachable moment for me -- and who knows, maybe for some of my fellow addicts reading this. So, a tip of the hat to Styleite's Justin Fenner and The Stir's Maressa Brown -- and to photographers through the ages, whose names have been lost in the sands of time.
