Besides blogging, I've been reading while waiting for Pat Fitzgerald.

In the MSM, more bad news for the DLC. WaPo's David Broder, who has not had a fresh thought in the new century, calls the DLC "the thinking branch of the opposition." Can you say "kiss of death"?

And prospective Democratic nominees should read Dana Milbank's warning in the Post today:

"The good news: John Kerry settled on his Iraq policy yesterday.

"The bad news: He did so 51 weeks after losing the election."

And in the blogosphere, don't miss:

"Harriet Miers may have provided a gigantic stress release, and perhaps unwittingly prevented all sorts of heart attacks. Dude, that town is tense."

12:06 PM ET. Fitzgerald has not -- we repeat not -- announced anything thus far.

1:17 PM ET. Nada.

"Christ, Fitz, let's try it again. You casually open the door to the trap, and let them walk into it, then slam it shut..."
