So, this is very cool.

For once, Chicagoans get an edge over New Yorkers as celeb chef David Burke gives us a sneak preview of his latest project that's opening in SoHo on Feb. 1.

Those dining at David Burke's Primehouse on Jan. 21 get first tastes of some of the dishes set to appear on the menu at David Burke's Kitchen, located in the James New York hotel.

Got that?! OK. Now this pop-up experience is for guests dining between 5:30 and 7:30pm, and Burke will be in the house. The preview includes Kitchen's appetizers (gratis!), entrees and desserts, and of course they'll have the famed chef's signature quirky style stamped all over them. Primehouse's regular menu will still be available.

The complimentary, shareable starters include dishes like the Cuttlefish and Laughing Bird Shrimp salad with lime yogurt, crispy chorizo, chickpeas and arugula; sea scallop and oxtail marmalade with verjus, apple, charred tomato and quail egg; and Ants on a Log, which comes with bone marrow, snails, parsley and fennel butter.

He'll also debut a few entrees, including a Vermont rabbit with carrot chorizo, braised escarole and black olive gnocchi as well as an oxtail and sirloin duo with smoked barley and creamy spinach.

Diners will also have an opportunity to win a two-night stay in a one-bedroom suite at The James NYC and dinner for two at Kitchen. Raffle tickets ($10-$20) for this awesome experience will be on sale to benefit Common Threads. A portion of the proceeds from the Kitchen menu items purchased 5:30-7:30pm that evening will also go to Common Threads.

Reservations strongly recommended for this one, kids.
