Adam Schickedanz, M.D.

Adam Schickedanz is a physician and researcher in San Francisco, where he has a clinical focus in urban underserved patient care. Adam maintains active interests in health policy and medical education, and he has authored peer-reviewed publications on medical professionalism, cultural competency, medical education, clinician-patient communication, health care value, and the intersections of financial hardship and health.

Adam earned his M.D. at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine where he was an Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and Gold Headed Cane honor society inductee. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis summa cum laude, receiving a bachelor of arts in biology. Adam was a Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science. He was one of three residents to receive the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Anne E. Dyson Award for community child advocacy in 2012. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the San Francisco Medical Society. He is currently a senior resident at the University of California San Francisco.

Adam co-founded a nonprofit medical-financial partnership organization, The Financial Fitness Clinic, as a first-year pediatric resident. The organization has been recognized by the San Francisco Medical Society, the California Association of Public Hospitals, and the American Academy of Pediatrics for its work reducing socioeconomic drivers of poor health.

Adam lives with his wife, Heather, in San Francisco.
