Aisha Tyler

Actress, comedian, and author

Aisha Tyler is an actress, comedian, and author. The first female African-American host of the Emmy-winning pop culture crucible “Talk Soup,” and the first African-American to enjoy a long-running arc on “Friends,” she has appeared in a wide range of projects, including “24,” “CSI,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Reno 911,” “The Boondocks,” “Balls of Fury,” “Death Sentence,” and “Bedtime Stories.” As a comedian she’s appeared on almost every late night and day time talk show, as well as in her living room after several gin rickeys.

Her first book, “Swerve: Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl,” was enthusiastically reviewed and looks nice on her mom’s bookshelf. She has also contributed articles to Glamour, Oprah, Jane and Movieline magazines. Her new Comedy Central one-hour special, “Aisha Tyler is Lit: Live at the Fillmore” is out on DVD now. She is currently on a nationwide standup tour.

Continuing in a tradition she worked hard to establish, Aisha hopes to someday be the first African-American Female to drink milk and then blow it out of her nose while laughing.
