Alissa Escarce

Policy Associate, Rights Working Group

Alissa Escarce is the Policy Associate at Rights Working Group (RWG). Prior to joining RWG she was the Henry Richardson Labouisse Fellow at Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc. (CDM), a transnational migrant workers' rights organization. She has worked in the United States and Mexico as an advocate for immigrants' rights, workers' rights, and racial justice, writing policy analysis, conducting research, providing legal services, and facilitating "Know Your Rights" workshops.

Alissa has been involved with several human rights organizations and movements, including Witness for Peace, Mexico's Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity, and Humanity in Action. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, and has trained and volunteered as an interpreter. As a college student she served as a moderator of campus discussions on race through the Sustained Dialogue program.
