Allison Hope Weiner Host of TheLip.TV’s ‘Media Mayhem’

Allison Hope Weiner, a lawyer and journalist who’s covered Hollywood for more than fifteen years is the host of TheLip.TV’s ‘Media Mayhem,’ a weekly internet show that gives the audience a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes in the world of media in an effort to make viewers more discerning and discriminating consumers of news content.

Weiner also hosts TheLip.TV’s ‘Crime Time,’ a show that follows the most significant legal cases in the country, demystifying the court system and reporting on the major crimes and trials being played out in public. Police brutality, celebrity crime, forensic pathology and investigation is broken down for the audience by a rotating panel of astute and experienced legal minds.

During her time at TheLip.TV Weiner has played a pivotal role in interviewing high profile guests from all aspects of the entertainment industry; from award winning screenwriters like Terence Winter (“Boardwalk Empire”), Matthew Weiner (“Mad Men”); and other prominent journalists such as CNN’s Chris Cuomo and ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent, Martha Raddatz. Weiner’s guests have also included well-known prosecutors, defense attorneys and forensic psychiatrists.

Before joining TheLip.TV, Weiner wrote for The New York Times, reporting on the entertainment industry. While there, Weiner profiled legendary Hollywood lawyer Bert Field, landed an exclusive interview with Mel Gibson and wrote extensively about the Anthony Pellicano trial.

Weiner joined The New York Times from Entertainment Weekly where she served as a senior writer. During that time, she landed exclusives interviews from ‘The Sopranos” star James Gandolfini during his HBO contract dispute to “Pee-wee Herman” actor Paul Reubens after his plea deal for possession of child pornography.

In addition to her two shows on TheLip.TV, Weiner has also appeared on CNN, HLN, ABC’s 20/20, Extra, Inside Edition, Access Hollywood and other shows in connection with her coverage of Hollywood crime-related stories.

A graduate of Columbia University and the University of Southern California Law Center, Allison Hope Weiner joined the legendary firm of Wyman, Bautzer—where she represented entertainers and corporate media clients before she left the law for journalism.
