Amardeep Kaleka

Community Organizer, Filmmaker, Activist

Born in India, raised in Wisconsin, Amardeep is the youngest son of Satwant Singh Kaleka, the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin president who heroically died trying to protect his community’s Church on August 5th, 2012. Amar is a former teacher, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, and a community organizer. His work in Washington D.C. on gun legislation and hate crimes, and has been noted by insiders as a remarkable show of candor and straight talk.

He is not only respected by many on Capital Hill but also by many hard-working, blue collar families who see him as “one of their own.” In 2014, Kaleka challenged Paul Ryan (R) for his seat in congress.
