Artist and designer An Xiao Mina (aka "An Xiao") looks at the impact of new communications technologies, especially mobile and social media, as the digital and analog continue to augment and alter the way we live. She has shown her work in art spaces internationally, including the Brooklyn Museum, Yale/Haskins Laboratories, the Pacific Asia Museum and has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Guardian, ArtNEWS and Art in America.
In 2008, An founded @Platea, a global social media art collective that exhibits and performs internationally and commissions creative social media art projects. She also writes extensively on social media art for Art21 and Hyperallergic.
