Chicana Feminist poet, teaching artist, and co-founder of Chingona Fire

Angela Aguirre is a Chicana Feminist poet who enjoys utilizing her creativity in meaningful ways. She writes about love, loss, identity, womanhood, heartbreak, and growth. She has been performing for the last 7 years, and has been a speaker at a number of large events; such as the Adelante Mujer Latina conference and the Women for Racial Justice Breakfast. Her work has been featured by The Huffington Post, Latina Magazine, and All Def Digital. As a teaching artist, she has taught poetry workshops at dozens of high schools, universities, and organizations such as InsideOut Writers, Homeboy Industries, and La Pintoresca Teen Education Center in her hometown of Pasadena. Her book of poems and writing prompts, Confessions of a firework, was published in 2016 by the World Stage Press and is available at Worldstagepress.org. She is also one half of the Latina Feminist poetry collective Chingona Fire that curates events for women of color in Los Angeles. Follow her on Instagram @Angelaloves
