Anthony is a writer, angel investor, and technology executive with two decades of experience in technology, communications, and public policy. He is CEO of Proverbial, a branding and communications consultancy in Los Angeles, and regularly consults with corporations, elected officials, non-profits, and law enforcement agencies on issues ranging from communications to encryption to drug policy. Prior to Proverbial, he was VP Communications and Chief Evangelist at Verizon. He landed at Verizon after their acquisition of EdgeCast Networks, the Los Angeles company he was involved in since its launch. Of the companies he has started, one published The Virtual Journal, the world’s first web magazine. Another invented dynamic customer acquisition, an e-commerce method now used in millions of transactions each year. Another became a leading Boston PR firm. He served as chief technology advisor to Governor [now US Senator] Angus King. He helped start Pop!Tech, the world's preeminent conference about the intersection of technology and culture. He is also a photographer and enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
