Barbara Newman

Barbara Newman is the Chief Executive of A Dignified Life LLC, a rare resource that serves the needs of people undergoing life transitions due to life altering circumstances and elder care issues. She does this by bringing critical support services under one roof. Newman connects families in crisis to a core of carefully selected experts, including geriatric care managers, social workers, attorneys and benefits specialists. The two-year old company was borne out of Newman’s experience in efficiently navigating the health care, insurance, legal and financial service industries during her husband’s terminal illness. Newman’s calendar is also filled with public speaking engagements where she shares her expertise and message of awareness and proactive planning.

Prior to this and over the last 25 years, Barbara Newman has helped develop some of the most recognized trends in American merchandising, first as Product Manager at Macy’s East and later as Vice President of Merchandising and Product Development at a large private-label manufacturer. Her products have been sold at retailers such as Neiman Marcus, The Gap, J. Crew and Aeropostle.

She and her twins live in New York's Hudson Valley. She holds a B.A. from Boston University in advertising, marketing, and communications.
