Beth Lapides is a host, comedian, producer, author and actor best known as the Creatrix, host and producer of UnCabaret. Beth created and has hosted the groundbreaking 'alternative comedy' show, UnCabaret on multiple platforms including Comedy Central, Amazon, Comedy World Radio, and audible.com as well as live in Los Angeles, on Sunday nights, for over 20 years. Currently the comedic storytelling salon is in residence in the elegant showroom at Au Lac in Downtown Los Angeles. At UnCabaret Beth has hosted and produced comedy luminaries such as Kathy Griffin, Bob Odenkirk, Julia Sweeney, Jeff Garlin, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Roseanne Barr, Taylor Negron, Sandra Bernhard, Tig Notaro, Judd Apatow, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, Andy Kindler etc. Beth also hosts her podcast, Life & Beth, available on iTunes, Stitcher and uncabaret.com. Her guests have included Daniel Radcliff, Willem Dafoe, Sasha Alexander, John Riggi, Ana Gasteyer, Andy Dick, Julia Sweeney, and other talent who know life from the inside. Beth hosted a daily radio show, The Beth Lapides Experience for Comedy World Radio, and a talk show pilot for MTV called The Couch. As a guest, Beth had appeared on The Today Show, CNN, All Things Considered, Politically Incorrect, The Treatment, Morning Edition, Women Aloud, Talk of The Nation. Beth has written for Time Magazine, O Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Elle Decor, The Utne Reader, The Realist, LA Weekly, LA Yoga and Premiere Magazine among others. Her writing has also appeared in numerous anthologies and she is the author of "Did I Wake You? Haiku for Modern Living". She also created, hosted and wrote for "Say The Word", a reading show of personal narrative by the best TV and film comedy writers including George Meyer, Alan Zweibel, Michael Patrick King, John Riggi, Jenny Bicks, Winnie Holtzman, Larry Charles etc. She is at work on her second book and has just completed her first screenplay. As a TV producer Beth has developed for Oxygen, Disney, Warner Brothers and produced a series called The Sweet Smell of Excess for The Recovery Network. She co-produced several critical acclaimed UnCabaret CD's and The Other Network Writer's Room featuring Seth McFarland, Gary Janetti, Larry Charles, John Riggi and more. As an actor Beth specialized in offbeat authority figures. She was the first guest star on Will & Grace where she played a club owner. She played a performance artist on "Sex & The City" and has appeared in various low budget films. Early in her career Beth was the recipient of several NEA's for solo performance work. Her most recent one person show "100% Happy 88% of the Time" had a run at The Improv in Los Angeles and toured theaters and performances spaces across the country. Beth is also a Creative Consultant and her class, currently called, Infinite Writing has helped and launched thousands of students into successful creative lives. She has taught independently and at UCLA Extension, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, IO West and is currently teaching out of Actors Comedy Studio.
