Bethany Herr Hatfield

Founder, Raw Way Life

Bethany Herr Hatfield has been on a journey to green living, veganism, and community projects since 2009. As the founder and previous CEO  of Raw Way Life she provided a revolutionary approach to raw meal replacement bars by not only creating a taste appealing to adults and children, she reached a demographic outside of just raw, vegan enthusiasts. In addition to her business ventures, Bethany co-hosts gourmet raw dinners at The Red Pepper Deli with her cohort Carolyn Simon in Northville, MI. Bethany was raised by Charles Herr, owner of American Driveline which was the largest axle company in Detroit from 1980-1998. As a child Bethany worked at the axle plant in Detroit and would accompany her father in community service efforts in the downtown area . This history has inspired Bethany to bring her entrepreneurial spirit back to Detroit. Hoping to see the city return to its strong productive roots, her mission is to initiate new, innovative businesses as well as community projects in the D, starting with an urban greenhouse project that will launch in the spring of 2012 based off of Anthony Anderson's "Grow Paradise" project. This non-profit project will provide organic produce to the local community at no cost and educate them about the benefits of raw foods.  She also hopes to cultivate young entrepreneurs in the city on strategies to initiate nutritional food businesses in order to encourage more economic growth within the city. Bethany see's the city of Detroit as a beautiful place that she wishes to cover only in the rose colored lenses it deserves.
