Mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut's largest city, and Co-Chair of U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Task Force

Bill Finch was elected was elected Mayor of Bridgeport in 2007. Since taking office, he’s helped the Connecticut’s largest city experience green job creation, economic development, population growth, and a significant decrease in carbon emissions. He is also active on the state and national level, serving as the Chair of Connecticut’s Conference of Municipalities and Co-Chair of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Climate Change Task Force. Prior to becoming the Mayor of Bridgeport, Finch served as a state senator, co-chairing the General Assembly’s Environment Committee. He has also served as a member of Bridgeport’s City Council, and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. He is the father of four children, and he and his wife, Sonya, reside in Bridgeport.
