Billi Gordon, Ph.D. Writer, Neuroscientist, Personality

Grew up across from the city dump in a house without indoor plumbing, was a typical overweight, overachiever: 2 sport varsity letterman for 3 years, Student Body President, Homecoming King, on the honor roll, in every club, etc. Entered a Roman Catholic monastery; they said, "You have a calling but it is not religious - your taxi is waiting and we will Fed-X your soul to hell." Went to the University Michigan to pursue new passions: cheerleading, drugs, and guys, which landed me in Hollywood, as an "elite escort." That evolved into a successful career as a "female" model, actress, author, and TV & film writer. If you've seen a tasteless greeting card, Coming To America, or Married With Children etc., you've seen me. Then, I traded my acrylic nails and hair weave in for a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Now, I conduct brain research at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, in the Center for the Neurobiology of Stress, Ingestive Behaviors and Obesity Program. I have another blog on Psychology Today: Obesely-Speaking. I've been married 27 years (583.9 light years in gay marriage) to a former USC frat brat, which is why I know love, not marijuana, should be illegal.
