Brian G. Osborne, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools, City School District of New Rochelle

Dr. Brian Osborne currently serves as Superintendent of Schools for the City School District of New Rochelle, the 11th largest school district in the state of New York. Prior to his arrival in New Rochelle in July 2014, Dr. Osborne served seven years as Superintendent of Schools for the South Orange-Maplewood School District in Maplewood, New Jersey. He was Chief of Staff, Teaching and Learning, as well as Director of Instructional Technology for the New York City Department of Education, which serves 1.1 million students in over 1,800 schools. During his 23-year career as an educator, he has also been a teacher and co-founded a public high school in the Bronx, New York.

Dr. Osborne holds a doctorate and master's degree in administration, planning and social policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a master's degree in mathematics from New York University. He and his wife, Karen, live in Weehawken, New Jersey, where they are raising two daughters, ages 12 and 9, who attend public schools.
