Bruce Selcraig is a former investigative reporter with Sports Illustrated -- think Pete Rose, Mafia-backed sports agents -- and former U.S. Senate investigator -- imagine Pentagon fraud -- who now writes for The New York Times Magazine, Harper's and Smithsonian, among others, on such matters as unsafe petrochemical plants, the PGA Tour's right-wing evangelical Christian bent and his direct relation to the real Robinson Crusoe, who was a Scottish pirate and whistleblower named Alexander Selcraig....but we digress. A native Texan, Selcraig lives in Austin, has two teenage children and when not writing runs a youth basketball program for inner-city kids.
