Celeste Meiffren, Field Director with Illinois Public Interest Research Group
Celeste Meiffren is Illinois PIRG's field director. Her responsibilities include organizing members and volunteers, working with the coalition partners in the community, developing media campaigns, and using other grassroots tactics to pressure targeted politicians. Meiffren works on a variety of issues including toxics & public health, product safety, and a campaign to stop taxpayer giveaways in Chicago. Previously, Meiffren was a citizen outreach director with the Fund for the Public Interest and worked on city council campaigns in New York City. She attended the University of Arizona.
