Chris Brummer is a law professor at Georgetown University and Director of the Institute of International Economic Law

Chris Brummer is Agnes N. Williams Research Professor and Faculty Director of Georgetown University's Institute of International Economic Law. His research interests include digital technology and the law, international finance and international trade. Professor Brummer was nominated twice by President Obama to serve as Commissioner of the CFTC, the derivatives regulator. After receiving unanimous approval by the Senate Agriculture Committee, his candidacy was withdrawn by President Trump.
