Christian Fuchs is an award winning photographer, multimedia producer, writer and designer for print and the web. Currently, Christian is the Marketing and Communications Manager for Apollo Video Technology in the Greater Seattle Area. Previously he was Communications Director of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA, writing stories and producing photographs and videos for JRS/USA and other JRS Regions. Christian was previously Deputy Director of Photography and then Director of Multimedia at The Washington Times. In 2008, Christian was part of a team at the paper that was awarded one of journalism's most most prestigious awards β the Society of Professional Journalists' Public Service Award β for its investigative series "Disposable Heroes." "Disposable Heroes" disclosed the unethical treatment of war veterans during a VA medical experiment. Christian previously held positions as photo editor and staff photographer at newspapers in D.C., Virginia, Texas and Florida. A U.S. Navy veteran, Christian trained with other service members at the Defense Information Scool in print and broadcast journalism, and then worked as a television producer, director and videographer on the islands of Crete and Diego Garcia, where he was named News Director. His next assignment took him to Tokyo, where he worked as a copy editor and section editor at Pacific Stars & Stripes for several months, before becoming a staff photographer at the newspaper and being recognized with several awards for his work. Christian has a B.A. from the University of South Florida and an M.A. from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
