Director, Nothing But Nets

Christopher Helfrich is the Director of the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets, a global, grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to fight malaria, a leading cause of death among children in Africa. Nothing But Nets provides individuals -- from students CEOs -- the opportunity to join the fight against malaria by sending a net to save a life. Since the UN Foundation launched the campaign in 2006, Nothing But Nets has raised more than $35 million to distribute more than 4 million nets to families throughout Africa.

Before joining Nothing But Nets, Chris served as the Director of Development and Marketing at Public Citizen, a national, public interest advocacy organization. There, he managed all fundraising, including major giving and events, and helped lead the organization’s online fundraising and advocacy program. Prior to Public Citizen, Chris was Director of Development at public radio stations in San Antonio, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and a fundraiser at Davidson College during their $270 million capital campaign, Let Learning Be Cherished.
