Cindy McGinty

Founder, McGinty Scholarship Foundation

Cindy, a graduate of the University of Connecticut, worked in the insurance industry in Human Resources and Health Claims for over 15 years. She then left the work world to raise her two sons, Daniel and David. She then turned her skills to volunteer work in her church and community. Cindy lost her husband Michael in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Mike was a loving husband, devoted father, and active member of his church and community. Daniel is now 18 and a freshman at St John’s College in New Mexico and David is a senior in high school.

After Mike died Cindy founded the McGinty Scholarship Foundation which awards scholarships to high school seniors who are active in community service. She was a member of the Family Advisory Committee for the Mass 911 Fund. She is a founding board member of the Mass Military Heroes Fund. Cindy believes deeply in the idea of community service, volunteering and helping family members to find meaningful ways to remember and pay tribute their lost loved ones.
