Clare Coleman is in her seventh year as President & CEO of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA). Coleman served as President & CEO of Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley (NY), a Title X sub-recipient agency, from 2006-2009. Prior to her time in New York, Coleman worked for US House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Nita Lowey (D-NY), serving as Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Appropriations Associate over her tenure from 1999-2005. She also worked for then-Rep. Chuck Schumer (1993-96) and former Reps. Jim Jontz (1992-93) and George Hochbrueckner (1990-91). From 1996-1999, Coleman was a federal lobbyist for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Coleman did a year-long stint at New York University School of Medicine in 2005. She represents NFPRHA on the HHS Office of Population Affairs’ (OPA) Title X Guidelines Revision and Family Planning Annual Review (FPAR) Expert Workgroups; as a liaison to Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s National Medical Committee; and on the National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy’s Public Policy Advisory Group. A native Long Islander, Coleman graduated from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
