As a resourceful and charismatic educator, I am dedicated to bringing awareness to underserved communities through my scholar-activism. I am a Philly native, Dominican-Puerto Rican mother of two little boys of color, and a poet. As a first-generation Latina scholar from Lehigh Unversity, my objective in pursuing a doctorate in English is to use it as a platform to complete social justice work that bridges academia to communities, the type of work that enhances visibility for marginalized groups. My scholarship includes Hip Hop studies and the intersectionality of identities through race, gender, and feminism. Previous publications include blogs for The Feminist Wire, Boriqua Chicks and a co-authored chapter in The Hip Hop and Obama Reader by Oxford University Press (2015). As a Community Engagement Liaison for Strategy Arts, working collaboratively with people and empowering them about the endless possibilities to make this world and our communities a better place is the best aspect of my work, in anything I pursue.
