As a master storyteller, Dan Gordon creates indelible characters and relationships, which have afforded actors the opportunity to play some of their most unforgettable roles. From Kevin Bacon’s haunting portrayal of Henry Young in Murder in the First to Kevin Costner’s darkly heroic lawman in Wyatt Earp, from Aiden Quinn’s conflicted spy in The Assignment to Denzel Washington’s towering portrayal of Rubin Carter in The Hurricane, Gordon’s characters are marked by their struggle to maintain their humanity in the face of overwhelming adversity.
Dan Gordon graduated UCLA as a film and television major. In the recent fighting between Israel and Hezballah, he served as a Captain (Res.) in the Israel Defense Forces Military Spokesperson Unit. His film credits include The Hurricane which starred Denzel Washington, Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner, The Assignment with Sir Ben Kingsley, Murder in The First with Kevin Bacon and the upcoming Mafia Cop for Mandalay Pictures and Universal Studios. In addition his stage adaptations of Terms of Endearment and of The Rainman will both debut in London’s West End in 2007 He is the founder of the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona and an LAPD reserve police officer for the past fifteen years and a member of both the WGA and DGA of America. He is, in addition, the author of five novels.
